A good idea turns brilliant when you find the courage to bring it to life.
MeliePants is my nickname. I gave my business this name in tribute to the two people who gave it to me — the people who supported me, helped me be brave, and inspired me. I love them both to beyond the edges of the universe.
Melie — short for "Mealie Pudding" — is a traditional Scottish white pudding made with suet, oats, and spices. Only a dad with a wicked sense of humour would call his daughter Melie Pudding. That was the first version of the nickname.
My dad is not here anymore, but he walks with me everywhere. I cannot thank him enough for the start he gave me in life: be curious, ask questions, challenge what does not make sense, and never stop believing in magic.
My partner took the pudding and replaced it with pants. He called me MeliePants, and I accepted it like the natural way of things — because it was. From pudding to pants. I walk with this person through this world and into the next. Thank you for living this beautiful adventure with me.
